You can pay starting fee in Euros!
Automatic cash mashines can be found outside most banks and in shopping centres (the word is "bankomat"). The word for "exchange office" is "mjenjačnica".
Tap-water is drinkable in whole Zagreb area.
Emergency call number in Croatia is 112.
It is wise to use mosquito repellent.
If you want to eat we suggest domestic restaurants ("restoran", "konoba") which are much better and cheaper than fast-food. Pizza and pastry restauratns are also very reccomendable. A normal meal should be under 10 Euros (75 kuna).
While on the competition course (TempO, PreO), all competitors must wear their start numbers in visible place (front of the body). Numbers are same for the both days.
If paralympic competitors need a helper/pusher for any event (especialy training is on the slope with few steeper sections) please let us know in advance by e-mail.
Organizers keep right for some last moment changes – please check the final notes at the competition.
Flag setting accuracy ("Zero tolerance")
All the people interpret the map and the terrain a little bit differently.
Sometimes it is just not possible to pitch the control flag at the perfect spot.
Sometimes, when setting the course before the competition small human erros happen.
Sometimes some of the sighting lines just don't align perfectly.
Sometimes it is something else...
Therefore, in order to avoid unnecessary doubts, frustrations and protests, for this competition we have decided to announce the "flag setting accuracy". That means, if you believe that there is no control flag in the correct spot, but there is one very, very close – within the set tolerance – to that spot, then do not answer Z, but choose that flag. There are no "micro-Z"s in this competition.
For the area features the flag setting accuracy is 2m.
For the line features the flag setting accuracy is 2m along, 1m distance.
For the point features the flag setting accuracy is 100°, 1m distance.
...if the control is set on an area feature and you believe the correct spot is somewhere within the circle of 2m radius from one of the control flags, then that flag is probably correct.
...if the control is set on a line feature and you believe the correct spot is within the distance of 2m along the feature from one of the control flags, which may be up to 1m distant from the feature, then that flag is probably correct.
Note that the additional control description symbols still apply, so if the side of the feature is set, the correct flag must be on the right side.
...if the control is set on the point feature and you believe the correct spot is within the angle of 100° left or right from one of the control flags, which may be up to 1m distant from the feature, then that flag is probably correct.
The aim of the course setter is that all control flags are set exactly on the correct spots, so the flag setting accuracy won't be used in a way to trick competitors intentionally (like putting a control flag near the edge of the tolerance on purpose).
We hope that this will give more fairness and enjoyment in the competition for all competitors.
